About

A fictional work about a bright, ambitious girl living in a village in Pakistan, who is forced into indentured servitude and ultimately finds a way to take a stand against injustice.

The author was inspired by the story of Malala Yousafzai (the young activist for girls' education who was shot by the Taliban) and this story is an age-appropriate exploration of many of the themes found in the latter's autobiography "I Am Malala" (included in our high school curriculum).
