Oedipus Rex is perhaps the most well-known of the classical Greek tragedies, about a king who unknowingly kills his father and marries his mother. This is the first of Sophocles' Theban Trilogy, and you may optionally also read the remaining two plays, Oedipus at Colonus and Antigone.
