This book presents the latest research in molecular and evolutionary biology and explores big picture questions such as how life evolved, how complex life arose and why it works the way it does. An understanding of the basics of biochemistry, cellular respiration and cellular structure (such as is presented in the first half of this course) is helpful before reading this book, but not required.
