Breaking the Barrier is a comprehensive language program for high-school students. This program systematically explains grammar and uses written tests as well as oral exercises. Each level is designed to be the equivalent of one year of high school Spanish.

Breaking the Barrier offers a "homeschool package," containing books, tests, answer keys, and access to online lessons, which you may access at tobreak.com/pages/homeschool-french. Alternatively, students can complete the course using only the online content, as this contains all the vocabulary, grammar explanations, audio and video content used in the course, as well as typed exercises (but it does not include tests). You can access samples and purchase your preferred package here: tobreak.com/pages/high-school-french

We recommend scheduling a conversation practice session, ideally with a native speaker, at least once a week. If you do not have access to a native speaker, you can access affordable French tutors at iTalki.com or similar language tutoring platforms.
