This is the lab component of the high school Chemistry with Lab course. It uses the standard chemistry lab kit and manual which are available for purchase at The Home Scientist, www.thehomescientist.com/e-commerce/chemistry-lab-kit-standard. The kit includes the chemicals and equipment needed to complete all of the labs, but you will need to purchase disposable protective gloves separately.
Before starting the labs, make sure to read the introduction and laboratory safety instructions, and the section on how to keep a lab notebook. You should set aside a blank notebook for this purpose, and use it to document each lab you complete in accordance with the instructions in the manual.
The standard-level lab kit includes 31 labs. Completing all of them will give students a thorough exposure to chemistry lab work at an on-grade level. You may choose to skip some of the labs, but we recommend completing at least twenty of them to qualify for a full high school credit in laboratory science.
